Day Hike at Nerstrand Big Woods State Park

About this outing
Please make sure to arrive by 9:50, we will meet at the parking lot of the ranger station since we need to buy daily and/or yearly permits. Please dress lightly and in layers. Some tips for a state park since they are usually more than 1.5 hours away: • Carpool with others • If carpooling, contribute for gas money • Buy yearly permits, they cost around $35 and daily ones are $7. We will do bi-monthly state parks so is cheaper to buy it yearly • Bring food, we are eating lunch there • Bring prayer mat, we will pray dhuhr there • Plan for someone to pick your kids from duksi since we are going to be there for around 7 hours • Bring games for the kids in the car so they don't get bored.
What to bring
Dress for the weather (always bring rain coat, gloves & warm jacket in fall, spring & winter) • Hiking Boots/sneakers with good traction • Sunscreen • Bug spray • Hat/sunglasses • Phone/Camera • Water bottle • Snacks
